Dr. Y. İlker Manavbaşı, born in Ankara in 1971, graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1994. In the same year, he ranked highly in the TUS (Medical Specialization Examination) and earned the right to specialize in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, one of Turkey’s most prestigious medical schools. During his six-year residency at Hacettepe University, driven by the goal of becoming a respected aesthetic surgeon, he visited Kuopio University in Finland and Linköping University in Sweden as an observer doctor.
After completing his specialization in 2001, he worked as Head of the Hand Surgery Department at Istanbul Private İren Hospital until 2004. He then joined the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Clinic of Prof. Dr. Onur Erol, one of Turkey’s most renowned surgeons, first as a fellow and later as a partner. Focusing particularly on rhinoplasty (nose surgery), Dr. İlker later worked at the Zeeba Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, with Prof. Dr. Bahman Guyuron, one of the world’s leading plastic surgeons in the field of rhinoplasty.
